24 November 2011 - Timor-Leste is one of the world’s newest states and amongst the poorest in Asia. (UN Development Report 2011). Nine years after independence, many Timorese are yet to experience the full benefits of democracy and feel out of touch with the democratization process.
Tomorrow, Friday 25 November 2011, Interpeace local partner, the Centre of Studies for Peace and Development (CEPAD), will hold a ‘National Forum’ in Dili to present the findings of their latest nationwide research project which involved close to 400 people across Timor-Leste’s 13 districts.

26 October 2011 - Endemic corruption throughout Timor-Leste threatens to unravel the substantial achievements made to the democratization process since the country regained its independence in 2002.
Interpeace local partner, the Centre of Studies for Peace and Development (CEPAD), has just received funding from German-based development agency, MISEREOR, to tackle the issue of corruption, collusion and nepotism, locally known as ‘KKN’.

But while this criminal behavior must be condemned in the harshest terms, we must also avoid falling into the trap of defining these events as reckless thuggery. Across the Atlantic, the problem of youth violence has been on the surface for years. Interpeace has been working on the issue in Central America since 2007 - giving youth a voice. This week Interpeace has been running a regional event in Guatemala City to address many of the issues.

Interpeace releases the first in a series of prevention policy proposals that will cover the Central America region.
